A low pressure system moved across the eastern portion of the Great Lakes on Sunday, while a separate area of low pressure trekked across the Intermountain West.

High wind warnings and blizzard warnings were issued across the northern Rockies on Sunday as an area of low pressure drove active weather across the region. Glacier, Mont., reported wind speeds of 69 mph, while Teton, Mont., reported wind speeds of 70 mph. Avalanche warnings were also issued across the Rockies on Sunday. Just to the west, a cold frontal boundary approached the Pacific Northwest, which brought another surge of moisture to the region. High pressure kept the majority of the Southwest clear of precipitation, as Coolidge, Ariz., recorded a midday high of 80 degrees.

Scattered snow showers associated with a wave of low pressure pushed across parts of the Ohio Valley and the Mid-Atlantic, as light accumulations occurred in several states. Brown, Ohio, reported a midday total of 1.0 inches of snow, while Wayne, Ohio, reported a midday total of 2.0 inches of snow. To the south, high pressure continued to build over the eastern Gulf Coast, which brought warm, sunny conditions to the Gulf Coast and the Southeast. Alpine, Texas, recorded a midday high of 85 degrees, while Ozona, Texas, recorded a midday high of 82 degrees.
