More Snow Heads to NYC Before a Warmup

Another round of snow heads for New York City before temperatures rise later this week.
A wave of snow arriving from the Midwest has its sights on the Northeast for Monday night and Tuesday.
This system is expected to drop 1 to 3 inches on New York City late Monday night through Tuesday morning, potentially impacting the morning commute.
While not the largest snowstorm of the winter, that amount of snow is still enough to make roads slippery and cause flight delays.

The snow could also be enough to bring down roofs that were weakened by and have yet to be cleared of the heavy snow that has fallen recently.
Saturday's snow pushed New York City's snowfall total for this winter season to 55.6 inches, the city's eighth all-time snowiest.

This month is now the city's third snowiest February with a total of 27.3 inches. February also ranks seventh among New York City's all-time snowiest months.
The impending snow will continue to push the winter and February further up in the history books.
Roads will turn wet for the Tuesday afternoon commute as temperatures rise into the lower 40s.

Above-normal temperatures will then dominate weather headlines for New York City for the rest of the week with highs in the middle to upper 40s anticipated for Wednesday and Thursday.
Overnight lows these days will still drop to or below freezing in the suburbs, so people are urged to walk and drive defensively.
Temperatures will then crack the 50-degree mark on Friday.
Overnight lows these days will still drop to or below freezing in the suburbs, so people are urged to walk and drive defensively.
With the warmup will come rain instead of snow later in the week, as well as the potential for stream and minor urban flooding--where snow piles are clogging storm drains--and more roof collapses.
