Tornadoes touched down across Alabama during the morning hours of Jan.
23, 2012. The severe weather actually commenced across the lower
Mississippi Valley Sunday night as a strong cold front sliced into a
warm and moist air mass. The most intense tornado in Alabama, an EF3,
tore through the city of Center Point and other communities in
northeastern Jefferson and northwestern St. Clair counties. That tornado
injured 75 people and left another dead.
