The next storm in the series of Alberta Clippers will roll southeastward across the upper Mississippi Valley Friday night and into the Ohio Valley Saturday into Saturday night.
While this storm will not be as strong as the clipper that brought high winds, moderate snow and multiple accidents to the region Thursday into Friday, it can bring enough snow to cause slippery travel.
Blustery conditions during and in the wake of the storm can lead to some blowing and drifting snow with poor visibility at times. A few gusts can reach between 30 and 40 mph, mainly after the storm passes.
Motorists should expect slow travel at times along I-94 in Minnesota and Wisconsin then along the I-64, I-70 and I-80 corridors from central Illinois to Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky.
On Friday night, snowstorm totals in Gile, Wisc., reached 14.5 inches, according to a trained spotter. Michigan too recieved nearly six inches of snow in some areas near Ontonagon, reported a trained spotter.
Enough snow can fall to cause flight delays at Minneapolis, Chicago, Indianapolis and Cincinnati.
As of Friday night, more than 300 flights were delayed or canceled at Chicago O'Hare International Airport, according to FlightStats.
Also Friday evening, the Youngstown Municipal Airport in Ohio reported thundersnow.

The storm will turn more to the east Saturday night bringing a inch or two of snow to areas from Charleston, W.Va., and Roanoke, Va., to Pittsburgh and Cleveland.
In the wake of the storm on Sunday, temperatures will briefly rebound, ahead of much colder air that will sweep in from northwest to southeast Sunday night, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Additional clipper storms will follow during next week.
The path is being paved later in the month for another round of brutally cold air with wind as the polar vortex takes another southward trip.
There will be the potential for near-zero cold by day and well below-zero cold at nights for many days in a row. Details will unfold on AccuWeather.com as the time draws nearer.
