Weather Underground Forecast for Tuesday,January 14,2014
A cold frontal boundary will extend across the Intermountain West and
over the central Plains on Tuesday, while a separate cold front will
stretch from the Tennessee Valley to New England.
A mixture of rain and snow will push across the Tennessee Valley and the
Ohio Valley due to a cold front over the eastern third of the country.
Rainy weather will also move over the Mid-Atlantic on Tuesday, while
freezing rain, sleet and snow will be possible across the Northeast. Low
pressure will also bring a chance of thunderstorms to parts of Florida
and Georgia.
A separate frontal boundary will stretch across the Intermountain West
and the central Plains, as little to no precipitation is expected across
the north central portion of the country. Widespread light snow showers
will be possible in the Rockies, while a swath of heavy snow will move
over the Great Lakes.
Out west, a cold front will inch southward towards the coast of
Washington. This system will allow for light rain to develop in
northwestern Washington. The remainder of the West Coast will stay clear
of wet weather as a ridge of high pressure builds over the eastern
Pacific. High pressure over the Great Basin will also influence a Santa
Ana wind event over southern California.
