Utah Rock Slide Crushes Home, Kills 2

A rock slide destroyed a home in Rockville, Utah, near Zion National Park Thursday afternoon, killing two people.
The house was buried by dirt and several boulders likely weighing hundreds of tons each, according to a Salt Lake Tribune report.

Police chief Kurt Wright told CBSNews.com rock slides are common this time of year, but the victims had no warning massive boulders were cascading toward their home. Jon Erdman, senior meteorologist for weather.com, noted Rockville had a high temperature of 55 degrees but a low of 18 with a reported two inches of snow on the ground Thursday.
CBSNews.com also reported the rock slide created a dust cloud so thick that local highway traffic had to be stopped.
The area was declared unstable Thursday night, and crews decided to wait until Friday to begin clean up the site, according to an AP report.
