Snowstorm Takes Aim on Boston Tuesday

A new storm will swing up from the Southwestern states, bringing a dose of accumulating snow and travel delays to Boston Tuesday.
Tuesday lunchtime and evening rush hour could be rough.
Enough snow will fall to make roads slushy and slippery around Boston and to have to shovel and plow in the surrounding boroughs and suburbs during the late morning and afternoon hours. Flight delays are likely, due to deicing operations and slippery runways.
The snow will last an average of six to eight hours and will reach from Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Philadelphia, to New York City, Hartford, Conn., Providence, R.I., and Portland, Maine.

The storm is forecast to bring an average of 3 inches locally, but a few locations along the I-95 corridor can receive up to around 6 inches.
Arctic air will follow the storm during the middle and latter part of the week. Many locations from the Ohio Valley to the Northeast will have their lowest temperatures of the season so far.
Locally, nighttime temperatures can dip into the teens around the city, but to the single digits in the northern and western suburbs Thursday night.
Yet another storm with snow could affect the area during part of the coming weekend.
