Episodes of snow and slippery travel are forecast prior to the departure of arctic air this weekend around Pittsburgh.
Intermittent snow into early Thursday can coat the ground in some areas. This touch of snow marks the leading edge of the latest blast of arctic air to sweep across the region.
RealFeel® temperatures will plunge below zero at times Thursday into Friday morning, thanks to wind, cloud cover and other factors.
A storm will roll out of the South Central states during the first part of this weekend.
A period of snow late Friday night into midday Saturday is likely to bring a general 1-3 inches of snow. Expect slippery travel during this time.
Temperatures will rebound to more seasonable levels Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
Temperatures will average close to normal during much of next week and may swing well above normal for a time during the week of Christmas.
