As cold air blasts into the West and spreads into the Central states, warmth will build in the East, including the Harrisburg, Pa., area much of this week.
Temperatures will surge to near 60 Thursday.
Spotty showers are in the offing Thursday. However, it could get very wet at times Friday into Friday night as a storm moves up from the South Central states. Travel delays due to fog are possible for a time Thursday and from drenching rain Friday.

It will trend colder Friday into the weekend but odds are against significant snow or ice at the tail end of the rain locally late Friday night into Saturday morning.
Another storm moving in from the South Central states could bring a wintry mix to the Harrisburg area later in the weekend.
