It has rained every day so far this month, except Dec. 1 around Atlanta. That trend will continue through Tuesday.
Rounds of drenching rain and patchy fog are in the offing for the Atlanta area into Tuesday, which cannot only foil some outdoor plans, but slow travel.
Rainfall will generally be light and intermittent. A push of dry air should begin a clearing trend Tuesday afternoon.
A couple of days of dry weather will follow Wednesday and Thursday for a change.
While the core of Arctic air will stay north of the region during the middle and latter part of the week, temperatures will continue to average below normal through Friday. As mild air returns, the chance of rain will increase as well Friday into Saturday.
Despite the high number of rainy days so far this month, rainfall has not been excessive with about 1.25 inches falling through Sunday. Normal for the period is a little over an inch.
