Big Weekend Warmup on Track for DC

The mid-winter chill that moved into the area this week will be a distant memory by the upcoming weekend.
Afternoon RealFeel® temperatures will soar back into the lower 60s on Friday before reaching the mid- to upper 60s this weekend. It will be mainly dry through Saturday, but there can be a brief shower or two late Friday night into Saturday morning.
The tranquil weather will compliment walks to nearby parks and restaurants. It would be a great time for sightseers to visit the monuments and everything else the city has to offer. However, an umbrella could be handy.

On Sunday, an advancing storm will bring more clouds than sunshine along with an additional shower or two. Despite the chances of rain, the rain should not be significant enough to warrant canceling outdoor plans.
The same storm will bring a much steadier, wind-driven rain to the city late Sunday night into Monday morning.
"A rainy Monday morning commute is in order for Washington, D.C.," said Expert Senior Meteorologist Dave Dombek.

Downpours will reduce visibilities for those traveling in and out of the city Monday evening. In some cases, ponding on roadways may limit lane travel or exit access, especially in low-lying and poor-drainage areas.
