Friday's Weather Outlook

A concoction of different weather will strike the U.S. from the Northern Rockies and Northern Plains to the Midwest and Lower Mississippi Valley. Meanwhile, the East Coast will see another day of warm temperatures.

The autumn system in the Northern Plains will continue to unload a mixture of different precipitation across much of the northern tier. Snowfall will be seen in Wyoming and the western portions of Nebraska and North and South Dakota with significant accumulations expected at higher elevations. Thunderstorms will cover the eastern Northern Plains, as well as the Upper Midwest and even down into the Central Plains. Severe storms, which may produce hail and strong winds, will be a threat from Minneapolis to Oklahoma City.

The Ohio, Tennessee and Lower Mississippi Valleys will also see scattered thunderstorms throughout the day. Southern Florida will also see afternoon thunderstorms pop up on Friday. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s and 90s.

The rest of the U.S. will see mostly clear skies and a throwback to summer weather and warmer temperatures. The Southeast, Southern Plains and Mid-Atlantic will see highs in the upper 80s and 90s, while the Northeast sees temperatures in the 60s. The Northern Plains, Northern and Central Rockies and Mountain West will see temperatures in the 30s, 40s and 50s. The West Coast and Southwest will keep warm in the 80s and 90s and the Pacific Northwest will have highs in the 50s.
