Weather Underground midday recap for Wednesday,September 4,2013.



Relatively calm weather greeted much of the country Wednesday as no major storm system was noted.

In the tropics, a tropical disturbance moved through the eastern Caribbean Sea and dumped heavy rain on Puerto Rico. This disturbance has a moderate chance of developing at some point in the next 2 days, and could become a probably to the country later this weekend. Meanwhile, only a few areas of rain was noted in the country. Scattered showers and thunderstorms did develop in the Southwest, but were not widespread in nature.

A high pressure system produce mostly dry conditions through the Midwest and Southeast. The warmest temperatures were noted in the Southern Plains, where afternoon temperatures were in the 90s and 100s. Similar temperatures were noted in the Southwest, while the Northwest experienced temperatures in the 70s and 80s.
