The year 1893 was a deadly year for hurricanes in the Atlantic Basin.
The Cheniere Caminada Hurricane tracked from the western Caribbean to
the central Gulf Coast and left 2,000 dead. The Sea Islands Hurricane
tracked into the Bahamas and southeastern United States and caused
anywhere from 1,000 to 2,000 fatalities.
