Storms to Lower Humidity for NYC Through Weekend

After a hot couple of days in the city, cooler air and lower humidity is around the corner.
An upper-air disturbance moved into the region overnight from Ohio, bringing showers and thunderstorms and dumping locally-flooding rainfall over parts of the state Thursday.
Delays due to weather were being reported at both JFK and La Guardia International airports during the late-morning, afternoon and evening hours Thursday.

After a short break from showers in the early afternoon Thursday, strong storms arriving from Lake Erie will usher in a cold front and ease the relentless humidity through the weekend.

Temperatures will hover around the 80-degree mark Friday and Saturday with abundant sunshine.
The battle between summer and fall will continue over the next two weeks, according to Long-Range Forecaster Paul Pastelok, as temperatures continue to fluctuate.
"The pattern through the Labor Day weekend looks to be progressive with episodes of warm and cool conditions for the Northeast," Pastelok said.
