It could be a rainy night tonight through tomorrow for Seattle. Between a quarter and three-quarters of an inch of precipitation is expected for the area.
Temperatures will likely be 5 to 10 degrees below normal. High temperatures will be in the mid-50s through midweek and lows will drop to the upper 30s.
In higher elevations, 2 to 4 inches of snow are possible between Tuesday evening and Wednesday. Precipitation will taper off Thursday.
Winds will be calm, reaching 15-20 mph right along the coast and only reaching a slight breeze in the city, at around 5 mph.
"The thinking is that this is not an indication of what's to come down the road," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Steve Travis said.
Should an El Nino phase begin, as expected, the winter would be warmer and drier than usual.
