After Wednesday's postponement and a rainy morning in Detroit, nothing more than a spotty shower will dampen this afternoon's Game 4 of the American League Championship Series.
The rain that pressed through Detroit late this morning has departed in time for the city's Tigers to take on the New York Yankees starting at 4:07 p.m. EDT.
Some sunshine will instead return for Game 4 with a seasonable first pitch temperature of around 60 degrees. Temperatures will then fall into the middle 50s before the final out.
Most of the game will be dry, but a spotty shower or two will briefly dampen the field.
Southwesterly winds at 12 to 25 mph with gusts to 30 mph will be blowing during the game, potentially impacting the movement of fly balls.
If the Yankees force Game 5 on Friday, a shower or two will threaten to dampen the game.
The threat of rain Wednesday night led to Game 4 being postponed until this afternoon. Officials wanted "to preserve the integrity of an uninterrupted contest," ESPN reported.
Detroit was actually dry and mild at Game 4's original start time of 8:07 p.m. Rain eventually reached the city at around 10 p.m. with 0.20 of an inch falling in the next hour.
Lighter rain and even a thunderstorm then followed until shortly after 3 o'clock early this morning.
