Rio 2016: Rain to dampen Olympics closing ceremony

Rain and wind may dampen the final display of Olympic pride on Sunday in Rio de Janeiro.
The closing ceremony kicks off at 7 p.m. local time.
Wind gusts could hit up to 30 mph (48 km/h) throughout the day as intermittent rain falls.

"Rain totals could reach a half an inch (1.3 cm) on Sunday," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Al Reppert said.
The wet and windy conditions could prove hazardous for the men's marathon on Sunday morning.
Though rainfall will taper off into the evening, showers could still occur during the ceremony.

Temperatures will drop into the mid-60s F (near 18 C). Fans should be prepared with a jacket when heading into Maracanã Stadium.
The ceremony will feature performers, dancers and other spectacles highlighting Brazil's culture.
The Olympic Flag will be handed over to officials from Japan as Tokyo is set to host the 2020 games.
