Current Status and Forecast:
- Tropical Storm Linda formed about 600 miles south of the southern tip of Baja California, strengthening from Tropical Depression Fifteen-E which developed Saturday evening.
- Linda is expected to continue to strengthen and could become a hurricane early this week while tracking northwest, remaining well off Mexico's southwest Pacific coast and the Baja peninsula.
- Some swells may be eventually generated and would then propagate toward the southern Baja peninsula later in the week.
- This system may trigger a surge of moisture into the U.S. Desert Southwest, leading to enhanced coverage of thunderstorms, there, mid-late week.
