Following cooler weather in the Bay Area over the next several days, rain will make a return ahead of the weekend.
"A cooler-than-normal pattern will persist in the area for much of this week and some rain will dampen the city later this week," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Andy Mussoline said.
Initially, a storm will bypass the city to the north early this week with little impact other than ushering in cooler-than-normal air, he added.

Temperatures will remain in the middle 60s each day of the week.
Another storm will move into central California Wednesday night into Thursday and usher in a little rain to the city.
"The rain should not be heavy enough to cause a flood threat to the area and will generally be beneficial with the ongoing drought," Mussoline said.
Following the rain, dry weather will settle in for the upcoming weekend.
