A warm and summerlike Mother's Day weekend is in store for the Boston area with highs near 80 by Sunday and at least partial sunshine.
High temperatures will trend upward through the 70s. The only significantly cooler locations will be right along the shoreline. Typical highs this weekend are in the middle 60s. Highs forecast are more typical of late June and early July.
The combination of sunshine, gradually building humidity levels, temperature and other atmospheric conditions will allow AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures to peak well into the 80s in some locations during the afternoon hours, especially on Sunday.

The vast majority of the time will be free of rain this weekend. However, a few locations could receive a pop-up shower or thunderstorm during the afternoon and evening by Sunday.

As July-like weather builds in the Northeast this weekend, a tropical system will approach the Carolina coast with rain, gusty winds and rough surf.
It is possible the remnants of this feature are scooped up by an approaching front from the Midwest next week. Monday into Tuesday will bring an uptick in shower and thunderstorm activity along with warm and rather humid conditions.
People heading to the beach to cool off this weekend should be wary of chilly ocean water temperatures this time of the year.
