Boston: Winter Cold to Make a Comeback at Midweek

Monday will feel much more comfortable around Boston after Sunday's wintry chill. However, more cold will return by midweek.
Monday is shaping up to be the nicest day of this week. Temperatures will rise to the typical mid-March high of 45 F as some sunshine returns.
While actual temperatures will top Sunday's high by a few degrees, Monday will feel much warmer than the end of the weekend with brisk winds and snow absent.
Motorists and those traveling by foot will have to be alert for any wet or slushy areas from Sunday to remain icy into Monday morning. The seasonable weather also brings the potential for ice jams on area rivers.

The break from winter's grip will not last long.
The passage of a cold front will cause the air to turn progressively cooler Tuesday through Wednesday. The middle of the new week will feel more like a typical winter day with temperatures being held below freezing and much lower AccuWeather.com RealFeel® temperatures.

A dramatic rebound in temperatures will not follow later in the week. Instead, AccuWeather.com meteorologists are monitoring the potential for snow to return Friday night.

This week is likely to be a preview of what is to come during the next several weeks.
"While there could be a day or two of warmth ahead of any cold front, the weather pattern is not favoring any sustained warmth across the East into April," stated AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Mark Paquette. "There can even be some really chilly shots as well."
