Colder air invading the Upper Midwest will sweep into the East and the Boston area by the middle of the week.
After a high in the 40s on Tuesday, temperatures will be slashed 15-20 degrees on Wednesday.
Gusty winds and dry air will result in AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures in the teens at times during the daylight hours.

Rather than a strong temperature rebound, high temperatures will hover mainly in the 30s later in the week.
Additional waves of chilly air will follow through the end of the month and into the first part of April.

While the chilly air will be a deterrent for outdoor projects and sporting activities it will slow the rate of melting snow farther north and lower the risk of flooding as a result.
Depending on the track of a southern storm on Friday, there could be a mix of rain and wet snow or perhaps a period of all snow. Spring officially arrives on Friday, March 20, at 6:45 p.m. EDT.
