Dry, cold weather will be the rule this week in Minneapolis, although residents can expect some relief from the brutal cold.
"Another arctic high pressure system will build into the area to start off the workweek with afternoon temperatures struggling to get above zero," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Erik Pindrock said.
Temperatures through Tuesday will stay in the single digits, before rebounding into the low 20s by Wednesday, when a moderating trend will begin.
Temperatures are expected to rise to above average by Thursday, Pindrock said. Highs will approach 30 F on Thursday, with normal temperatures for this time of year in the mid-20s.
"The week will be generally dry, with nothing more than a passing flurry Wednesday night," he added.
Sunshine is forecast for each day through Saturday this week.
