Another Wind Storm to Blast Europe

On the heels of several wind storms, another blast of wind will sweep across northern Europe during the middle of the week.
While in advance of this storm system, during the beginning of the week it will still be unsettled and breezy with showery conditions across northern Europe, damaging weather is not expected.
The culprit for these high winds will be an area of low pressure that will strengthen across the North Atlantic as it nears Ireland on Wednesday. Wind will begin to increase across Ireland and the United Kingdom later in the day on Wednesday.

The greatest threat for damaging wind will come on Wednesday night and into Thursday across Ireland and Great Britain as the low tracks across Scotland. Wind gusts in many areas are expected to reach 80-100 kph (50-60 mph). Coastal Ireland, Wales and western England could potentially see gusts upwards of hurricane force.
In London, England the strongest wind Wednesday night is expected to gust to near 100 kph (60 mph). Wind could minor structural damage, down trees and cause isolated power outage.
To accompany the wind, a band of soaking rainfall will move across the region.

As wind continues to blast south and east, Thursday will be a very windy day from northern France to Denmark. Gusts could reach 100 kph (60 mph) in these areas as well. However further inland, from Paris to Berlin, while it will be windy, damage will not be of a significant threat. Wind gusts from central France to Germany will more likely be 65-80 kph (40-50 mph).
The low pressure system bringing the strong wind will slowly move into Scandinavia through the end of the week. While wind will not be as strong later in the week, the storm system will have far-reaching effects as a gusty wind will remain across much of northern and central Europe.
