Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday,December 3,2014

An area of low pressure will skim across the Eastern Seaboard on Wednesday, while a strong Pacific system will impact the western half of the country.

An area of low pressure will move northeastward over the northern Mid-Atlantic and the southern coast of New England. This system will bring moderate to heavy precipitation to the Northeast. A mixture of rain and snow can be expected across New York and northwest New England, while rain will develop across the Mid-Atlantic and coastal New England. In addition, light rain will spread across the southern Appalachians, while an onshore flow from the Gulf of Mexico will trigger scattered showers over the southern Plains, the middle Mississippi Valley and the Tennessee Valley. The majority of the Southeast will avoid wet weather, although showers and thunderstorms will be possible over southeast Florida. A trough of low pressure over Ontario will bring a chance of snow showers to northern Minnesota, northern Wisconsin and northern Michigan.

Meanwhile, arctic high pressure will continue to push bitter cold air across the northern Pacific Northwest, the upper Intermountain West, the northern Plains and the upper Midwest. Out west, a Pacific low pressure system will skim across the West Coast. Heavy rain will impact portions of southeast California and northern California, while light to moderate rain will persist across Oregon. Additionally, a light wintry mix will move across the Great Basin and the Intermountain West.
