After a dry start to the week, another slug of beneficial rain will arrive in the Los Angeles area toward the weekend.
Downtown Los Angeles picked up 1.5 inches of rain last week, which put the city 475 percent above normal for the first six days of December.
"The jet stream will steer storms into Washington and Oregon through midweek, but will aim toward southern California late week and bring more beneficial rainfall," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Michael Doll said.
It will be dry through Wednesday but then a Pacific system will affect the region beginning late Thursday.
