Another slug of beneficial rain will arrive in the Los Angeles area in the early morning hours Friday.
On Friday, between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. local time, heavy rain can be expected across the Los Angeles area, bringing with it the threat of flooding and travel problems, according to AccuWeather.com Western Weather Expert Ken Clark.
"It will fall fast and hard, which is going to cause problems," Clark said.

In addition, high surf of 10-14 feet can be expected against Southern California shorelines.
"These are extremely dangerous conditions," Clark said, adding that the high surf and rip currents pose an extreme risk to anyone planning on swimming or surfing in the area.
Experienced surfers should also exercise caution, he said.
Track the incoming rain to your precise location and stay alert to rapidly changing conditions by using MinuteCast® if you are traveling or headed outside.
After the heavy rainfall late in the week, drier, and cooler weather can be expected across the Los Angeles area for the weekend before rain returns early in the new week.
Those looking to venture outdoors for holiday shopping will see temperatures hovering in the low 60s, with cloudy skies throughout the weekend.

Sunday looks to be the nicest day of the weekend, with more sunshine.
"The closer you are to the coast, the better the chance you'll see more sunshine," Clark said.

Another chance for rain will return early in the new week, with lighter rain expected Monday and Tuesday.
Conditions are not expected to dry out throughout the middle of week, Clark said, doing that it is possible heavier rain than what is seen Monday and Tuesday will move in by midweek.
