After a few days of chilly weather in the Detroit area, temperatures will rebound across the city.
For those planning on venturing outdoors for holiday shopping, temperatures will hover in the 40s, and climb to near 50 F by the start of the new week.

"The normal high is 37 F," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Frank Strait said. "So, they are going to see above-normal temperatures through this weekend and early next week."
Cloudy skies can be expected through the weekend, but the milder weather can also be expected.

"The reason for this is that the chilly area of high pressure that has been over them for the last few days will be pushing away to the east," Strait said. "Southerly winds around the back side of the high will bring in milder temperatures."
In addition, it will also bring in some moisture to the area, he added.
"We won't see much rain, if any, but there will be a lot of clouds around starting this weekend," Strait said. "Weathermen often call this a ‘dirty warmup.'"
By Monday, temperatures will near 50 F; however, the warmer weather will not stay long.
By the middle of next week, temperatures will drop back to near normal with cooler air expected across the region.
