Wet weather will move into the Chicago area for the start of the new week.
"Those traveling in the Monday morning commute should prepare for some slick spots, especially in the colder northern and western suburbs," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Andy Mussoline said.
Mussoline added that the threat for slippery roads will quickly diminish later Monday morning but there could be lingering rain or snow shower later in the day. The rain or snow shower should not pose any threat to afternoon travel.

Following the precipitation on Monday, dry weather returns by midweek. Daytime highs through Wednesday will settle in the mid-30s with breezy conditions and cloudy skies on Tuesday and times of clouds and sun on Wednesday.
Overnight low temperatures will hover near 30 F through Wednesday.
"Generally tranquil weather will settle in mid to late week as a sprawling high pressure system moves into the area," Mussoline said.
