Boston: Storm to Bring Coastal Rain, Interior Snow

Boston faces a disruptive storm and travel woes Tuesday into Thursday.
Wind-swept rain, coastal flooding and strong wind gusts may not only slow ground and air travel in the region, but can cause sporadic power outages and property damage.
Gusts between 50 and 60 mph are possible later Tuesday and Tuesday night.

Less wind is forecast Wednesday into Thursday.
"Enough warm air will wrap into this storm that we're talking about mainly rain this time around in Boston," said AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Brian Thompson.
Stubborn cold air will allow a wintry mix to last longer well north and west of the city.

"The threat for a heavy, wet snow will target parts of the Poconos and Catskills through northern New England," said Thompson. The heavy, wet snow could be enough to bring down trees and power lines across the interior.
The storm impacting the Northeast this week will not be quick to leave, causing additional rain showers to persist into Thursday.
