Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday,November 12,2014

A low pressure system will move across the northern Great Lakes and southeast Canada on Wednesday, while a Pacific system will approach the West Coast.

An area of low pressure will drift east northeastward over southeast Canada. This system will usher gusty winds and snow showers over portions of the upper Midwest, while scattered snow showers will linger over the northern Plains. In addition, upslope flow will bring moderate to heavy snow showers to the central Rockies and the central high Plains. Temperatures will be 20 to 40 degrees below normal from the eastern Rockies to the Plains as an arctic air mass spreads across the region. Meanwhile, a cold frontal boundary associated the aforementioned low pressure system will extend across the eastern Great Lakes, the Mid-Atlantic, the Southeast and the central Gulf Coast. Light to moderate rain will develop along this frontal boundary from eastern Texas to New England.

Out west, another Pacific system will approach the Pacific Northwest. This system will bring a chance of late evening showers to southwest Washington, Oregon and northern California. There will be a slight chance of freezing rain over western Oregon and southwest Washington, which could create dangerous conditions along roadways. A calm weather pattern will persist over the Southwest on Wednesday due to a ridge of high pressure over the eastern Pacific. Temperatures are forecast to range between the 70s and 80s across the Desert Southwest.
